Darren Smith founded SparkFinder Labs after building a dynamic career at the intersection of media, technology, and experiential learning. He has held product marketing roles at global companies like Adobe and IBM, worked in marketing and event operations at Major League Baseball, and is a two-time entrepreneur himself.
Alongside his consulting practice, Darren serves as Assistant Professor of Instruction at Texas State University, teaching senior-level capstone courses in strategy, leadership, and entrepreneurship. He also teaches Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the UT McCombs School of Business, where he's recognized for his hands-on, student-centered approach that emphasizes creative confidence and practical startup execution.
Currently completing his PhD at Oklahoma State University, Darren's research explores the intersection of ADHD, neurodiversity, and entrepreneurship. A long-time Austin resident, he remains deeply invested in community-centered innovation and inclusive venture support.
